PYONGYANG, May 14 (Xinhua) -- Kim Il Chol, a member of the National Defence Commission of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK), was dismissed, the official news agency KCNA reported on Friday.
"Kim was relieved of the posts as member of the National Defence Commission and first vice-minister of the People's Armed Forces for his advanced age of 80, according to Decision No. 06 of the NDC issued on May 13," the report said.
Kim has held the post as the minister of the People's Armed Forces, and was appointed as the first vice-minister of the People's Armed Forces in February, 2009.
