MOSCOW, April 5 (Xinhua) -- Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and his Ukrainian counterpart Viktor Yanukovych held a private meeting at presidential residence outside Moscow on Monday.
Medvedev and Yanukovych took a drive around Gorki the presidential residence, and visited a chapel amid Easter celebrations.
Presidential press secretary Natalia Timakova told reporters that during an informal dinner the two presidents would discuss bilateral relations.
This was the second meeting of the two leaders in five weeks. During an official visit in early March, Yanukovych as the newly elected Ukrainian president reiterated his willingness to improve ties between Moscow and Kiev, which had been strained during the reign of his predecessor Viktor Yushchenko.
Earlier on Monday the Kremlin announced that Medvedev will attend the Global Nuclear Security Summit in Washington on April 12-13, pay an official visit to Argentine on April 14-15, and attend the second summit of BRIC (Brazil, Russia, India and China) leaders in Brazil on April 15-16.
