WORLD'S STATEMENTS OF SUPPORT COULD FALL USELESS

Hani al-Masri, another West Bank political analyst voiced less optimistic as he said that "the world's leaders' visits, statements of support and their stances are useless amid the current circumstances, where the voices of bulldozers, gunshots and armored vehicles are louder."

"The International policies had not yet reached the stage of the pressure on Israel to halt the settlement activities and be abiding by the international resolutions," al-Masri said. " Therefore, as long as there is no real practical pressure on Israel, the Jewish state will continue execute its plans."

Chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat agreed with al-Masri, when he stated on Friday that the Palestinian National Authority ( PNA) wishes to see the words and statements of the international Quartet "have turned into deeds that oblige Israel to practically halt settlement activities."

"There are no other solutions to the current crisis, except a full Israeli commitment to halt the settlement activities all over the West Bank and east Jerusalem, including the natural growth, and find a practical mechanism to oblige Israel to be committed to this solution," said Erekat.
