ISLAMABAD, March 15 (Xinhua) -- Pakistani security forces arrested another top leader of the banned Tehrik-e-Taliban Pakistan(TTP) in east Pakistani province of Punjab, local media reported Monday.
The TTP leader Qari Shabbir was detained on Sunday in the city of Faisalabad and has been shifted to an unidentified place for investigation, the reports said.
Qari Shabbir is claimed to be a close aide to the recently killed terrorist Dr Moaz alias Umar Kundi and has been blamed for providing logistic support to the militants in Punjab.
Meanwhile also in Punjab, the security forces arrested three more militants from the southeastern city of Multan.
Taliban have wreaked havoc to the Pakistan's heartland in recent days especially in the Punjab's capital city of Lahore by bombing different public and private places.
Pakistani security forces have recently arrested several top leaders of Taliban from different cities of the country and have intensified their chase against militants.
