DNA test confirms Bali bombing mastermind killed

A Metro television footage of an amateur video showed that over 50 persons with ark uniform, holding guns, conducting a training in a remote forest in Janto of Aceh.

The group had succeeded in recruiting at least four local Acehnes, including Yudi Zulfahri of 27 yeas in a bid to get his help smooth the training in Aceh, he said.

Another militant arrested was Sapta Adi bin Robert Bakrie, a graduation of Minanao terrorist training camp in the Philippines, said Hendarso.

The police also arrested the supplier of weaponry for the training in the camp in Aceh, Sofyan Fansory, and the alleged perpetrator of bombing at Australian embassy in 2004 named Syailendra, he said.

During Tuesday's raid, the police shot dead financier of the training and bomb expert Yahya Ibrahim.

Ibrahim had got funds over 500 million rupiah (53,000 U.S. dollars) for purchasing weaponry for the training in Aceh.

"His role is to prepare military exercise, buying weapons and ammunition and funding other needs, said Hendarso. He had expertise exceeding Dr. Azhari," said Hendarso.

Azhari was Malaysia-born who assembled bombs at major bombings in Indonesia since 2000, like the church explosions in 2000, Bali bombings in 2002 and 2005, JW Marriot Hotel blasts in 2003 and Australian embassy bombings in 2004, killing more than 260 people.

During the raid, the police also seized three remote controls used to donate bomb and five series of bombs ready to use and guns.

Separately, in the raid in Aceh, the police seized nine riffles, laptops, pistol and thousands of bullets and military uniforms.

"Currently the anti-terror team is hunting the militants in Aceh," said Hendarso.
