New Mission Impossible premieres in S. Korea

BEIJING, Dec. 5 (Xinhuanet) -- Hollywood actor Tom Cruise was in South Korea on Friday to premiere his new film "Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol,". In the latest instalment of the action franchise, the 49-year old actor returns as Impossible Mission Force agent Ethan Hunt.

Cruise filmed scenes in the United Arab Emirates and performed several stunts himself on some of Dubai's famous landmarks, including the world's tallest tower, the Burj Khalifa.

Tom Cruise said, "Very challenging. We spent months figuring out how to do it because Brad Bird came up with this idea and designed it. And I was very excited, I couldn't wait to do it. And I couldn't wait to do it and it took many months to figure out how to do it, physically. And the training that we had to do to how are we going to make this work. And so it was very exciting to do. And I was, you know, we spent many, many days shooting it. And when it was over, I didn't want it to end. 'Cause it was a lot of fun."

The "Mission: Impossible" series has raked in nearly 2 billion U.S. Dollars worldwide since the first instalment was released in 1996.
