BEIJING, Sept. 6 (Xinhuanet) -- It was the end of the run for China's Peng Shuai in round of the US Open overnight. The last remaining Chinese player was out classed in the round of 16 by Italy's Flavia Pennetta who fought back from 5-love down in the second set tie break to reach the quarter finals.
Pennetta is known on the circuit as super woman. The Italian contested 137 matches last year, more than any of the other women's players. The 26th seed produced a shock result in the third round when she beat former Open Champion Maria Sharapova, and was looking for more of the same when she took on Peng Shuai.
