BEIJING, July 15 (Xinhuanet) -- In the coming week, Henan will stage a series of performances, intangible cultural heritage showcases, and other topical activities for the Expo visitors.

The opening ceremony was indigenous and traditional, featuring a performance of martial arts from the Shaolin Temple, and Yuju Opera. During a week of events, there will be two extravaganzas performed in the morning and again in the evening, giving visitors plenty of opportunities to enjoy them.

There will also be a folk art display. The shows range from music, dance, and opera, to Taiji and ancient drum playing. And, all the performances are free of charge.

For those who prefer quieter activities, a interactive corner of intangible culture heritage is perhaps the best option. Visitors are able to take a close look at the whole process of firing tri-colored glazed pottery like that from the Tang Dynasty. Or they can dab the wood engraved painting of Zhuxian Town, and admire varied Ru Porcelains under expert guidance.

Twenty-two state intangible culture heritage inheritors are available to demonstrate their works and introduce the art to visitors.

Zhu Wenli, Ru Porcelain inheritor, said, "All the items we present here are top-quality artworks. I put the ancient fragments and modern products together and help people understand how to appreciate Ru porcelain."

A tourism promotion will also be held to enhance the profile of the central Chinese province.
