BUENOS AIRES, Sept. 3 (Xinhua) -- The Argentine women's national field hockey team won on Friday 4-0 over Spain, to keep leading the group B of the World Cup being hosted in Rosario city, 300 kilometers to Buenos Aires.
The Argentine team, known as the "Lioness", won with goals scored by Noel Barrionuevo at the minutes 13 and 47, both of short corner, Alejandra Gulla at the minute 14 and Rosario Luchetti at the minute 40.
Argentina now has 9 punts, as it has won three consecutive times, and its next match will be on Saturday against China, which has 3 points.
Earlier, China defeated South Africa 4-1 for its first triumph at the World Cup, and England (7) tied 1-1 with South Korea (4).
The matches were played at the stadium of Rosario, after they had been suspended Thursday due to the pouring rain.
Later the Group A will have the following matches: Germany (6) vs India (0), Netherlands (6) vs Australia (6) and Japan (0) vs New Zealand (0).
Top two teams of each group will qualify for the semifinals on September 11.
