BEIJING, Aug. 20 (Xinhuanet) -- Forbes.com has ranked world's top 10 highest-paid female athletes on Thursday. The income figures cover June 2009 through June 2010 and include prize money, endorsements, appearance fees and exhibitions.

Sharapova pulled in 24.5 million U.S. dollars over the past year, making her the highest-paid female athlete in the world.

The top three earners all performed briskly on tennis court. However, though Serena Williams may be the No. 1-ranked female tennis player,  she can not match the earnings power of Maria Sharapova.
