MADRID, July 29 (Xinhua) -- The Spanish Football League announced Thursday that it would bring forward the kick off times of a series of matches in order to try and raise its profile in the Asian market.

The Director General of the League, Francisco Roca made the announcement while speaking at the "Soccerex" forum in Singapore.

"Our objective is to be one of the prominent leagues in this part of the World. Changing the hours for television is something that is essential. We have to do it, because otherwise it will be impossible," said Roca.

The Spanish know that at the moment, the English Premier League is the most popular league in the Far East, with teams such as Manchester United and Liverpool counting on millions of followers.

For that reason, as well as bringing forward some kick off times, next summer, the Spanish Football League plans to organize an Asian tournament. Three Spanish sides and an Asian team will play each other in a Southeast Asian country which has not yet been announced.

Spanish football is in the ascendancy following the national team's triumph in the World Cup finals and the LFP aims to make full use of that success.

"With Spain as the reigning World Champion in 2010, we fell this is the best moment to share the beauty of Spanish football with the Asian market," said Roca.
