BEIJING, May 11 (Xinhuanet) -- The long anticipated Beijing-Shanghai high-speed railway will start a one-month trial operation on Wednesday, before its formal launch in late June, a railway official said.
The railway authority has also decided that the fastest train service between the two mega-cities will make an extra stop, according to an official with the transport bureau under the Ministry of Railways, who requested to remain anonymous. Full story
BEIJING, Jan. 4 (Xinhua) -- The Beijing-Shanghai High-Speed Railway will be put into operation by the middle of June this year, Chinese Railways Minister Liu Zhijun said at a conference Tuesday.

XUZHOU, Jiangsu, July 19 (Xinhua) -- Workers began to lay tracks for a high-speed railway connecting Beijing and Shanghai on Monday, according to China's Ministry of Railways (MOR).
