BEIJING, March 11 (Xinhuanet) -- Microsoft's new Internet search engine Bing is slowly and steadily gaining users for nine months in a row up since it was unveiled in June, according to media reports Thursday.
In the U.S. search market, Bing increased its share in February to 11.5 percent from January's 11.3 percent, according to online tracking firm comScore.
Meanwhile Google is still dominating the online search business. Its share edged up to 65.5 percent in February from 65.4 percent in January.
Microsoft and Google have been consistently upgrading online search service. The competitors have been focused on imprving mobile search offerings and incorporating real-time content from pupular online communities such as Twitter and Facebook into search results.
In July, Microsoft teamed up with Yahoo! for a joint offensive against online search giant Google. Yahoo's share in Feburary was down slightly from January's 17.0 percent to 16.8 percent.
The data gives Microsoft a reason to feel cautiously optimistic about Bing's chances. And Google also shouldn't get too cocky in face of Bing and Microsoft-Yahoo search partnership despite its gaudy market share, experts suggest.
