DHAKA, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- Three children died Thursday after receiving vaccines against measles in a village of Bangladesh's Barisal district, 169 km south of capital Dhaka.

Anil Chandra Dutta, civil surgeon of the district, told Xinhua Thursday evening 12 children from the village took measles vaccine out of them 3 fell sick with drowsiness, convulsion, vomiting and diarrhoea.

The 3 children then were admitted to local hospitals and died one after another early Thursday morning, Dutta said.

Dutta said that a six-member probe committee, headed by deputy civil surgeon ASM Abdus Sattar, has been formed and reached the spot to collect evidences and record statements of the witnesses and they will submit a report after finishing the investigation.
