HANOI, Feb. 10 (Xinhua) -- Vietnamese Ministry of Health on Wednesday confirmed one more death from the A/H1N1 influenza, bringing the country's total number of flu deaths to 58.
The confirmation was made here at the weekly meeting on the country's A/H1N1 influenza prevention and control.
According to Vietnam's Department of Preventive Health and Environment under the Ministry of Health at the meeting, the patient was a 37-year-old Vietnamese man from the country's northern province of Dien Bien.
The man was taken to the provincial general hospital on Jan. 22 with symptoms of coughing, serious pneumonia and respiratory failure.
The patient died on Feb. 4 as his health conditions kept worsening. His sample was tested positive to the A/ H1N1 virus, said the ministry.
Vietnam has reported 11,186 cases of A/H1N1 influenza since the outbreak of the flu in the country, said the ministry.
