TIANJIN, Oct. 4 (Xinhua) -- The Bali Road Map is an important document in UN climate talks adopted in Bali, Indonesia, in December 2007 in response to growing public awareness of global warming.
It was adopted as a two-year process to finalizing a binding agreement in 2009 in Copenhagen.
The Bali Road Map consists of a number of forward-looking decisions representing the various tracks that are essential to reaching a secure climate future.
The document includes the Bali Action Plan, which charts the course for a new negotiating process designed to tackle climate change, with the aim of completing this by 2009.
It also includes AWG-KP negotiations and their 2009 deadline, the launch of the Adaptation Fund, as well as decisions on technology transfer and on reducing emissions from deforestation.
