TOKYO, Feb. 25 (Xinhua) -- The following are three major events related to recent recalls by Toyota Motor Corp. due to accelerator problems:
-- On Nov. 25, 2009, Toyota announced a recall of 5.55 million units in North America, including the three models of Lexus ES350, Camry and Prius, to remove unsecured driver-side floor mats posing the risk of accelerator pedals getting stuck.
-- On Jan. 21, 2010, Toyota issued a safety recall to repair faulty accelerator pedals. The recall involved 2.48 units of eight models, including Corolla and Camry, in North American, 1.71 million units of eight models in Europe, 80,000 RAV4 cars in China and 180,000 units in the other parts of the world.
-- On Feb. 9, 2010, Toyota announced it will recall about 430, 000 vehicles worldwide in four hybrid models, including 220,000 units domestically, 160,000 in North America, and 50,000 in Europe, for a repair on a fault on its brake system that can cause the car to stop too slowly in slippery or bumpy conditions.
