YANGON, Sept. 14 (Xinhua) -- A Myanmar art gallery will open in Gwanju, South Korea this year, local Pyi Myanmar News reported Tuesday.
The event will lead to the creation of business opportunity through art, U Kyi Win, Secretary of Myanmar traditional floral Artists Association was quoted as saying.
Myanmar has been cooperating with South Korea in art and culture exchange and Gwanju is striving itself to turn into an art city by launching culture exchange, sponsoring paper reading sessions and opening of art galleries, inviting Myanmar and other Asian countries to join in exhibition.
Art Gwangju 2010, which features a wide range of exhibits including historical works, cultural artifacts and paintings, is organized by the Gwangju city and Gwangju Biennale foundation to promote culture and arts as well as to stimulate the art market.
