WARSAW, May 20 (Xinhua) -- Two hundred and ninety-nine exhibitors took part in the 55th International Book Fair that opened in Warsaw on Thursday.
Gorzjoiz Guzowski, chairman of the book fair, said at the opening ceremony that the 55th International Book Fair will be a huge, grand-scale event with rich offers, multitude of visitors and an impressive number of book premiers.
This year's fair is dedicated to Polish composer Frederic Chopin and his 200th birth anniversary.
Traditionally the fair will provide the opportunity to meet with writers from various parts of the world.
This year's fair, held at the Palace of Culture and Science, will end on May 23. In 2009 the fair was attended by 500 exhibitors from 30 countries and visited by some 51,000 people.
