BUDAPEST, April 22 (Xinhua) -- The 17th Budapest International Book Festival opened on Thursday in Budapest.
Israel, this year's guest of honor, shows about 500 books in Hungarian, English, German and Hebrew at the fair. It will hold book presentations, discussions, concerts and photo exhibitions.
Speaking at the festival opening on Thursday, Aliza Bin-Noun, Ambassador of Israel to Hungary, said "The Budapest fair is one of the most important cultural and literary festivals and forums in the region and in Europe. We are proud that Israel was chosen as the guest of honor."
