BEIJING, May 26 (Xinhua) -- Chinese State Councilor Meng Jianzhu held talks with Uzbek Interior Minister Bahodir Matlubov in Beijing on Thursday, where they expressed willingness to enhance bilateral law enforcement cooperation.

Meng, also the Minister of Public Security, said that the two ministries have actively collaborated in fighting international crime, organizing security for large-scale events and setting up law enforcement training sessions.

China hopes to boost its cooperation with the Uzbek Interior Ministry in order to effectively safeguard the security and stability of the two countries, Meng said.

Matlubov said the Uzbek side is ready to enhance coordination with China while expanding practical cooperation in law enforcement.

After the talks, the two senior officials witnessed a signing ceremony for a memorandum of cooperation between the Chinese People's Public Security University and the Uzbek Interior Ministry's law enforcement school.
