BEIJING, March 12 (Xinhua) -- China's Ministry of Finance(MOF) said Saturday that it has allocated 50 million yuan(about 7.6 million U.S.dollars) for infrastructure emergency repair in the quake-hit Yingjiang County in China's southwestern Yunnan Province.
The funding, which comes from the central budget, will be spent on repairing of infrastructures, including roads and water supply system, said the ministry in a statement on its website.
A 5.8-magnitude earthquake jolted Yingjiang County near the border with Myanmar Thursday, leaving 25 people dead and more than 250 others injured including 134 seriously. About 127,100 residents have been evacuated to safety.
The central government on Friday allocated 55 million yuan for quake relief in the region for relocating and settling local residents, providing living subsidies, and offering condolence funds to those who lost family members in the quake.
127,100 people evacuated after southwest China's earthquake

Mobile communication, power supply restored in China's quake-hit Yingjiang
BEIJING, March 12 (Xinhua) -- Mobile phone services and power supply have been restored in Yingjiang County in southwest China's Yunnan Province after a 5.8-magnitude earthquake hit the region, telecom and power grid operators said Saturday.
China Telecom, one of China's major telecommunications companies, said its CDMA base stations in Yingjiang and the neighboring Lianghe County were all back to service.Full story
Altruism in southwest China's quake rescue operation
YINGJIANG, Yunnan, March 11 (Xinhua) -- Chen Yue rushed to Yingjiang People's Hospital at midnight on Thursday, signed his name on a critically ill notice and left instantly.
Inside the hospital lay his wife, Yin Qi, who was fighting death after being seriously wounded in the earthquake that hit the southwestern border town of Yingjiang at noon. Full story
