WUHAN, China, July 28 (Xinhua) -- To get good results in the London 2012 Olympic Games, Chinese women basketball players have been tuning up in a series of warmups, including the championship with Cubans to be held in central China's Wuhan city on August 8.
The Chinese women cagers hope to train themselves and get full preparation though these competitions for the World Championship this September, the Asian Games to be held in China's Guangzhou city in November, and also the London Olympic Games after two years.
As one of the warmup competition, the Sino-Cuba championship will kick off in Wuhan at 2 p.m. August 8. Chinese women basketall stars and many young players will compete with cuban gutfighters.
Before that, Chinese women basketball players also enjoyed some games with WNBA in the United States this May and Australian players in July in China.
As for the the coming World Championship, Sun Fengwu, the head coach of the Chinese women basketball team said the most important thing for the players is not the final results.
"Only when these young girls become more skilled through these games can Chinese women basketball team do a good job in the London Olympic Games," he said.
