BEIJING, July 6 (Xinhua) -- Argentine President Cristina Fernandez de Kirchner will pay a state visit to China from July 11 to 15 as guest of Chinese President Hu Jintao, Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang announced here Tuesday.
"China attaches great importance to President Cristina's visit," Qin told a regular news briefing.
This is Cristina's first visit to China since she took office in 2007.
During Cristina's stay, President Hu will hold talks with her and Premier Wen Jiabao will meet with her as well, Qin said.
Leaders of the two countries will exchange views on further enhancing the China-Argentina strategic partnership, expanding cooperation in various fields and other issues of common concern.
The two sides will also sign a number of cooperation agreements, he added.
"I believe her visit will be a complete success and advance the China-Argentina strategic partnership," Qin noted.
