TORONTO, June 26 (Xinhua) -- Chinese President Hu Jintao met leaders of Russia, the United States, Britain and Indonesia respectively here on Saturday on the sidelines of a Group of 20 (G20) summit, and discussed important world and regional issues of common concern.
Hu met his Russian counterpart Dmitry Medvedev on Saturday for talks aimed at further cementing their countries' strategic cooperative partnership.
During the meeting, the two leaders exchanged views on regional and international issues, including the situation on the Korean Peninsula, the Iranian nuclear issue and the situation in Central Asia.
The Chinese president said Medvedev's upcoming visit to China would further advance the strategic cooperative partnership between the two countries. The Russian president said he is looking forward to the visit in September.
Hu and U.S. President Barack Obama met on the sidelines of the summit and discussed bilateral relations and voiced their opposition against protectionism.
Hu said China and the United States should continue boosting coordination of their macroeconomic policies and stick to the principle of dealing with trade frictions through dialogue on equal footing.
