About 400 dead, 10,000 injured in 7.1-magnitude quake in China's Qinghai

People set up the tent as temporary shelter after an earthquake jolted at 7:49 a.m., at Jiegu Town, of Yushu, a Tibetan autonomous prefecture in western Qinghai Province of northwest China, April 14, 2010. At least 300 people have died and 8,000 others were injured in a 7.1-magnitude earthquake, which hit Yushu County in Yushu prefecture at 7:49 a.m., according to the local government. More than 85 percent of the houses in Jiegu Township, near the epicenter, had collapsed. Rescue teams from the central government, neighboring areas and armed forces are on their way to the quake-hit areas. (Xinhua/Wu Hong)
