ECB keeps key interest rate unchanged as expected

BERLIN, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- The European Central Bank (ECB) kept its key interest rate unchanged at 1 percent on Thursday as expected. The ECB's president Jean-Claude Trichet will explain this decision later at 2:30 pm (1230 GMT) in the press conference.

Eurozone industrial producer prices up by 0.2 percent in July

BRUSSELS, Sept. 2 (Xinhua) -- Industrial producer prices in the eurozone rose by 0.2 percent in July compared with the previous month, European Union statistical office Eurostat said Thursday.

The index in the 16-nation bloc jumped by 4 percent in July compared with July 2009, according to Eurostat. Full Story
