BEIJING, June 19(Xinhua) -- The number of provinces, autonomous regions and municipalities participating in trial operations of Renminbi-denominated cross-border trade settlement will increase to 20 on the Chinese mainland, assistant to the central bank governor Li Dongrong said this week.
Related rules would be promulgated in the near future, Li added.
The trial began in July 2009 in Shanghai and Guangdong.
Some 44.55 billion yuan of transactions had been consummated under the trial by the end of May.
