BEIJING, Sept. 16 (Xinhuanet) -- A screaming woman passenger was removed from an American Airlines flight from Miami to Chicago, whose presence prompted an emergency landing before the flight continued to its destination.
American Airlines Flight 1284, which departed from Miami, ended up landing in Indianapolis because of the allegedly unruly passenger.
During the flight, the woman, identified by the Indianapolis Airport Authority as Daniela Velez-Reyes, reportedly hit a passenger sitting in front of her when he complained she kicked his seat.
When a flight attendant intervened, Velez-Reyes allegedly grabbed the attendant's face and kissed her, then punched her in the face, according to a witness.
Authorities said Velez-Reyes also kicked a police officer while being arrested.
The woman was charged with battery with injury, battery without injury, battery of a public safety officer, criminal recklessness, disorderly conduct and disruption of the operation of an aircraft, authorities said.
