VANCOUVER, Jan. 17 (Xinhua) -- The suspect who shot and seriously wounded two police officers at a casino in Edmonton in Canada's western province of Alberta has been located, Alberta police said on Saturday.
The two officers were shot around 3 a.m. on Saturday while confronting a suspect about a stolen car found near the casino in Edmonton, the provincial capital. The shooter then fled the scene.
Both officers were in serious condition, Canadian Broadcasting Corporation news quoted police officer Martin Degrend as saying in Edmonton.
He said no other suspects were being sought in the shooting and that there was no longer any public safety threat related to this incident.
Police searching for the suspect managed to find the stolen car near a golf club in the northwestern part of the city.
Police said although the suspect has been located, people were advised to stay away from the golf course as the investigation continued.
Police were also asking anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers.
