NEW DELHI, Dec. 27 (Xinhua) -- Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has met with software giant Microsoft's CEO Satya Nadella, local media reported on Saturday.

It was a courtesy call by the Microsoft boss, who is in India to spend his first Christmas with his family after becoming the head of the U.S. techonology company in February, sources were quoted as saying.

When meeting with Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, Nadella said, "In every meeting, of course, both 'Digital India' and 'Make in India' are top of mind and for us, top of mind in terms of our contribution to India."

The Microsoft chief also informed Jaitley that Microsoft was keen on "investing more" in India, the sources said.

Friday's meeting was the second courtesy call of Nadella, an Indian-American born in the southeastern state of Andhra Pradesh, to Modi.

Nadella, who was executive vice president of Microsoft's Cloud and Enterprise group, had met the Indian prime minister during his first India visit in September after succeeding Steve Ballmer.
