HONG KONG, Dec. 5 (Xinhua) -- An earthquake measuring 5.4 on the Richter scale jolted South of the Fiji Islands at 02:45:14 Hong Kong Time on Friday (18:45:14 GMT on Thursday), the U.S. Geological Survey said.
The epicenter, with a depth of 102.74 km, was initially determined to be at 24.5458 degrees south latitude and 177.0661 degrees west longitude.
