DUSHANBE, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- Anvarsho Beknazarov, a high-ranking police officer from the Tajik Internal Ministry, has been arrested on suspicion of weapons trafficking, the ministry said in a statement on Tuesday.
The arrest was made on Wednesday in Dushanbe, the capital of Tadzhikstan. The police found five pistols, three rifles, six magazines, a bayonet and 634 bullets of different calibers in Beknazarov's house.
The Tajik Internal Ministry found a small arsenal near Yos village in Romit gorge, where Kalashnikov rifles, grenades, auti-tank mines and other weapons were stored.
