KALIBO, Philippines, Nov. 25 (Xinhua) -- At least two died and seven others were wounded when a lone gunman indiscriminately fired at the crowd in a local carnival in the Centra Philippine province of Aklan Monday night, local police reported on Tuesday.
Police authorities identified the fatalities as Antonina Ricablanca, 16 and Saraki Katiniko Viray, 14. The incident happened at around 9:00 p.m.
Based on initial police investigation, a clan war is being considered as a motive in the said incident. For the past century, hundreds of people died in a family war at the hinterlands of the Central Panay Mountain Range.
Police are currently working out in identifying the suspect as investigation continues. The unidentified suspect remains at large.
