KABUL, Nov. 16 (Xinhua) -- Afghan militancy and conflicts have claimed the lives of 18 people and injured 38 others since Saturday.
In the latest violent incident which happened in the shape of suicide car bomb on Sunday in Kabul, three people including the bomber were killed and 22 others, all civilians were injured, Interior Ministry Spokesman Sediq Sediqi confirmed in his twitter.
However, Kabul police chasing militants to check terror, raided a locality and captured a three-member terrorist group in Kabul on Saturday, Ministry of Interior said in a statement released here on Sunday.
"Acting upon intelligence report, units of Kabul police raided a locality in Sar-e-Tapa locality of Kartai Now district on Saturday and captured three terrorists," the statement said.
Police also discovered a number of arms and ammunitions including a sticky bomb from their possessions, the statement further said.
The arrested men, according to the statement have confessed to their involvement in terrorist activities including attaching sticking bombs on the vehicles of security personnel.
Interior Ministry in a separate statement said 15 Taliban militants have been killed during series of operations conducted across the country over the past 24 hours.
Units of police in conjunction with personnel of army and the national directorate for security have conducted series of cleanup operations in Kandahar, Kunar, Laghman, Uruzgan, Ghazni, Zabul and Paktia provinces over the past 24 hours which have left 15 Taliban rebels dead," the statement contended.
According to the statement, 16 more militants have been injured and three others arrested during the operations.
Taliban militants fighting the government to regain power are yet to make comment.
