DHAKA, Nov. 3 (Xinhua) -- Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami has called for another round of nationwide non-stop 48-hour strike from Wednesday morning in protest against the death sentences handed over to its leaders in war crime cases.
Jamaat in a press release published on its website on Monday morning made the announcement of the hartal from Nov. 5 - 6, also demanding release of its leaders.
The announcement of the hartal for Wednesday and Thursday was made shortly after the apex court Monday upheld its Senior Assistant Secretary General Muhammad Kamaruzzaman's death verdict.
Jamaat on Sunday called for a 24-hour strike for Thursday protesting the death penalty of Jamaat leader Mir Quasem Ali.
