BANDAR SERI BEGAWAN, Sept. 10 (Xinhua) -- Brunei's Anti- Corruption Bureau (ACB) as the government's representative has signed a MoU (Memorandum of Understanding) on combating and prevention of corruption with Vietnam's government inspectorate as part of efforts to widen cooperation in corruption investigation, the BruDirect.com, the No. 1 news website in the country reported on Wednesday.
ACB Director and Permanent Secretary (Law and Welfare) at the Prime Minister's Office Dato Paduka Hj Muhammad Juanda Hj A Rashid said during the signing ceremony that the MoU will lay a firm foundation for the bureau and Vietnam's government inspectorate to strengthen bilateral cooperation in areas of mutual interest, in particular combating and preventing corruption.
The ACB director signed the MoU on behalf of Brunei, while the General Inspector Huynh Phong Tranh represented Vietnam.
