KUALA LUMPUR, June 20 (Xinhua) -- Malaysian police raids have led to 31 arrests for the suspects involvement in illegal World Cup betting.
Local police also seized from the suspects 61,215 ringgit (19,000 U.S. dollars) and 5,650 Singapore dollars (4,500 U.S. dollars) believed to be bets in the raids in several areas in the southern state of Johor, according to Johor police on Friday.
Police said similar operations against illegal gambling activities would continue for the World Cup.
