OSLO, June 12 (Xinhua) -- Norway will receive 1,000 refugees from Syria, the Norwegian news agency NTB reported on Thursday.
As many as 108 Syrian refugees arrived in Norway over the last few days, including 65 persons who landed on Thursday at the Gardermoen Airport, about 50 kilometers northeast of Oslo.
More Syrians with residence permits issued by Norwegian Immigration Directorate are coming in the coming months, said the report.
Out of the total number of 1,620 refugees Norway will receive this year, 1,000 will be Syrians, mostly from refugee camps in Lebanon, Jordan and Turkey.
Norwegian Immigration officers have interviewed about 400 Syrian refugees in Turkey, who will come to Norway later this year.
