KIEV, June 6 (Xinhua) -- The Ukrainian government has set an ambitious goal to secure a place among top ten countries in the World Bank "Doing Business" ranking, the press service of the Ukrainian government said Friday.
"That is a very high-flying plan, but we can bring it to life, seriously preparing our project and consistently implementing it," Sergey Evtushenko, the head of the State Investment Projects agency was quoted by the cabinet's press office as saying.
To improve the country's business environment, Ukraine will reduce administrative barriers, enhance its fight against corruption and establish a network of platforms for investment and fund raising, Evtushenko said.
The signing of the economic chapters of the Association Agreement with the European Union is also an integral part of Ukraine's plan for business development, Evtushenko added.
According to the latest World Bank "Doing Business" report, Ukraine climbed from the 137th to the 112th place in a global business ranking, due to positive changes in terms of starting business, dealing with construction permits and reducing tax burden.
