WARSAW, June 4 (Xinhua) -- Decentralization in Ukraine will proceed according to the Polish model, Ukrainian president-elect Petro Poroshenko said Wednesday in Warsaw.

"We have a very active dialogue on the foreign and political front, and assurances that Ukraine has trustworthy allies in the EU, the U.S., Canada and the whole world, who have clearly announced the support the Ukrainian stand regarding the resolution of the eastern conflict," Poroshenko told a press conference.

Poroshenko added that his Warsaw talks gave "reason for optimism" and especially mentioned U.S. President Barack Obama's "staunch and determined" support of Ukraine's security.

"On Wednesday, together with the leaders of the European countries, Canada and the U.S., we discussed the details of a peace plan which (...) I will be able to present in Ukraine during my inauguration," said Poroshenko.

"This will be a tough decentralization proposal, and decentralization will be built according to the Polish model," Poroshenko said.

Poroshenko also announced a broad amnesty and other peace-building moves.

Poroshenko is to be sworn in as Ukrainian president on June 7.
