VILNIUS, May 22 (Xinhua) -- Airborne landing and assault on enemy objects drills were conducted by joint forces of Lithuania and the United States in Rukla on Thursday.
Over 100 Lithuanian and U.S. troops participated in the operation, according to Lithuania's Ministry of National Defense.
Soldiers conducted parachute jumps into an area controlled by hostile forces, and assaulted the enemy-controlled buildings after regrouping.
Xinhua saw twice of the parachute jumps after explosions at specified places on Thursday.
The exercises were the main part of this year's largest tactical field exercise "Black Arrow 2014" of the Mechanized Infantry Brigade (MIB) Iron Wolf involving about 1,500 Lithuanian and U.S. military personnel, said the ministry.
Black Arrow 2014 consists three main phases, jointly conducted by Lithuania and the United States from May 12 to May 23.
