NEW DELHI, May 22 (Xinhua) -- A restaurant in Mumbai has become the world's first to deliver a pizza to a customer, using a drone, local media reported Thursday.
"All of us had read about (global e-commerce giant) Amazon's plans of using drones. We successfully carried out a test delivery by sending a pizza to a customer located 1.5 km away from our outlet on May 11," Francesco's Pizzeria chief executive Mikhel Rajani was quoted by the media as saying.
He added "What we have done now will be common place in the next four to five years. Every such customised drone costs around U.S. dollars 2,000," he added.
Drones are usually used for shooting movies in India. But they are not allowed to fly beyond an altitude of 200 to 400 feet, that too, not over security establishments.
