TEHRAN, May 11 (Xinhua) -- Iran's nuclear program is "peaceful" and the Islamic republic will not stop it, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani said here on Sunday.
Rouhani said that Iran's nuclear activities are "within the directives of the Non-Proliferation Treaty or NPT and international regulations."
"Iran's path in the course of achieving nuclear technology has been right and it will never be stopped," he said.
"Iran has not followed illegal actions and has not tried gaining nuclear arms," and Iran's enemies have always "lied" about its nuclear program, he said.
The Iranian president made the remarks ahead of a fresh round of nuclear talks between Iran and major world powers scheduled for May 13 in the Austrian capital of Vienna.
