NEW DELHI, May 9 (Xinhua) -- At least three people, including a navy sailor, were injured when a minor fire broke out on Indian navy destroyer INS Ganga at Mumbai navy dockyard Friday.
The incident took place at the boiler room of the destroyer. The injured have been rushed to a nearby hospital, said local TV channel Times Now.
The INS Ganga was undergoing a refit in Mumbai, said daily Hindustan Times online.
The accident was the latest in a spate of incidents involving the Indian navy over the past several months, including the explosion and sinking of a Russian-made submarine at Mumbai dockyard last October, in which 18 navy officers and sailors were killed.
In March, a navy officer was killed and two shipyard workers were injured in an accident involving the navy's newest stealth destroyer, INS Kolkata, when it was being tested at the Mazagon Dock Limited (MDL) in Mumbai, leading to the resignation of the Indian navy chief.
