ISLAMABAD, May 7 (Xinhua) -- One woman was killed and 20 people were injured when a passenger train derailed near Pakistan's south Nawabshah district on Wednesday morning, local media reported.
Urdu TV channel Dunya said that the accident happened when the train's engine and three compartments derailed and over turned near Nawabshah, a district in the country's south Sindh province.
The ill-fated train Karakoram Express was on its way from eastern Faisalabad city to southern port city of Karachi.
Railway traffic was halted in the area following the accident and rescue teams shifted the injured people including three women to a nearby hospital.
Hospital sources confirmed that they have received 20 injured people and at least two of them are in critical condition.
