Iran rejects U.S. report on terrorism

English.news.cn   2014-05-01 22:13:45

TEHRAN, May 1 (Xinhua) -- Iran on Thursday rejected a U.S. report which keeps the Islamic republic on a list of state sponsors of terrorism, official IRNA news agency reported.

"Accusing Iran of supporting terrorism is distortion of truth and fully based on double standards," Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Marzieh Afkham was quoted as saying.

Afkham was responding to a U.S. State Department report released Wednesday that kept Iran on its list of state sponsors of terrorism.

She said Iran itself has been a victim of terrorism over the past three decades, and that baseless claims that Tehran supports terrorism is politically-motivated.
