MEXICO CITY, April 18 (Xinhua) -- A 7.0-magnitude earthquake shaked shouthern Mexico at 9:27 local time (1427 GMT) Friday, Mexican National Seismologic Service announced.

The epicenter is located 31 km northwest of Tecpan in the southern state of Guerrero, some 300 kilometers south of the capital Mexico City.

The quake was strongly felt at Mexico City.

The U.S. Geological Survey said the quake was measured at 7.5 on the Richter scale.

So far there have been no reports of human casualties or huge property loss.
