BEIJING, April 2 (Xinhua) -- An 8.1-magnitude earthquake jolted sea off north coast of Chile at 7:46 a.m. Wednesday (Beijing Time), according to the China Earthquake Networks Center.
The epicenter was monitored at 19.6 degrees south latitude and 70.7 degrees west longitude, with a depth of 10 kilometers, the center said.
The U.S. Geological Survey measured the quake to be of 8.0 magnitude.

SANTIAGO, April 1 (Xinhua) -- Tsunami waves generated by a 8.0-magnitude earthquake that hit off the coast of Chile Tuesday have stricken some areas in the north of the country.
