KIEV, Feb. 24 (Xinhua) -- Ukraine's acting government on Monday issued an arrest warrant for President Viktor Yanukovych on charges of mass crimes against protesters in a week of bloodshed in Kiev.
Acting interior minister Arsen Avakhov wrote on Facebook that the ousted president and several other officials have been placed on Ukraine's wanted list for mass murder.
Yanukovich fled Kiev by helicopter Friday after signing an agreement with the opposition to end the conflict, according to media reports.
He arrived in the Crimea region late on Sunday night, Avakov said.
